Q&A: Can Reiki Masters Get Ill?
Q: Someone told me that a true Reiki master never gets ill. Your take?
A: I find this statement quite bizzare, considering how Mikao Usui died, and that Phyllis Furumoto recently had cancer – is the person saying this actually challenging her authenticity? Reiki masters are humans too; while regular Reiki practice improves general health and the speed of recovery during the occasional illness, it certainly doesn’t mean that one would never fall sick.
Disease is (IMO) a result of inner conflict, which definitely reduces through regular Reiki practice but life always brings us greater challenges. When one is battling what I call core issues ( those very fundamental to one’s identity) then there can be quite a trust with mental as well as physical illness. However, I believe Reiki ensures that you always have support and find the right people when required.
But yes, it is not the first time I’ve heard this statement; I’ve even had a client come to me and be relieved I was kind, because she (a Reiki master herself) was questioned and judged for having a tumor by the other healers she had gone too.

Hi, I have completed my second levels as m patient of depression and some physical problems. Can I give Reiki to somebody else? Will it have any impact on my mental and physical health?
Hello Rupa,
Yes you can freely heal another person as long as you practice at least 35 minutes of self-healing everyday.
