A word cloud of the various forms of Reiki available

A few years ago, during a very engaging conversation about spirituality, an ascetic had remarked to me “Oh, but no one’s interested in enlightenment, Ashwita!” I didn’t believe him at that time, but as I continued my Reiki practice, I realized he was right. People would rather have money, more lavish lifestyles, better health, relationships, more friends, and bigger egos. Enlightenment is usually just another goal people chase to feel even bigger ‘Oh, so you chase only after material things? Look at me, I chase after enlightenment, do you know how many gurus I have personally met?’

Having learned Reiki when I was still in school, I grew up viewing it as a deeply spiritual practice. But now, I see it becoming nothing more than an item on an attunement menu card. People can visit masters or better yet, websites, and select all the attunements and manuals they want to receive. The desire to find shortcuts to spiritual growth has led a spate of teachers to pretend like a dozen attunements or levels will compensate for the lack of a daily practice. There never has been, and there isn’t – a shortcut on the spiritual path. The most powerful part of spiritual growth has also been the most boring – regular, diligent practice. As a teacher, I would advise any sincere seeker to pick one path – one form of Reiki in this case – and stick to it.

Below I list some of the forms of Reiki and energy healing that exist today. Many of them seem nearly identical, and surprisingly are often offered together as a cluster or package. But what the heck, if there are buyers, why wouldn’t people sell?
