Solstice + New Moon
Solstice + New Moon
Embracing the Darkness
This year, the winter solstice (Dec 22nd, 4:33am) and the Capricorn new moon (Dec 22nd, 7:06am) are just a few hours apart. This is very significant – the winter solstice is the darkest day of the year, with the longest night. This night, this year, will also be missing the moon. The winter solstice is also rightly called the ‘new Sun’, as it marks the time when the sun starts to ‘grow’ again.
The darkness is a wonderful time to rest and rejuvenate, something we rarely spare time for these days. While coming face to face with one’s darkness is scary for many, remember that the darkness leaves no scope for illusions either. It is in the quiet and dark that we can settle into stillness and contact the source of who we are, lose our heads and our minds and re-set our course.
Things you can do:
Set Intentions: This is a great time for setting intentions for growth and abundance.
Intensify your Reiki practice to bring out the most from the darkness.
Monday is also a great time to re-start your Reiki practice if it has been faltering.
There is also an Earth Healing Meditation on 21st December, by Darren Linton. You will have to register and will be sent a guided meditation.
