Learning Patience
We had a couple of very interesting questions lately, I combine them here to make it easy reading.
During meditation last week, I saw my two biggest problems: one is having no patience and second doing everything fast and quickly to finish or look for short cuts and these are two things I surely need to work on. As a child I was known for patience but I don’t know how this transition happened that today I need all instantly, quick n fast….perhaps this even affects our belief or faith system…I am consciously trying to slow down now. How can I get there more easily?
If your Reiki practice is regular, then I would see this as a very promising thing – because in Reiki merely awareness is enough for transformation. Just let these two issues rest in your awareness – Reiki knows your desire to change this and in a few months time you will look back and think ‘hey, how did I change? when did I change? how did this happen?!?!’ Just ensure that your Reiki practice is regular, that’s all.
Patience comes from an inner knowing that you are complete. Om poornamadah1… … On the other hand, all of media today is centered around telling you that you are unhappy and incomplete. Thing is, you are now brainwashed (almost everyone is, you are not alone) so you are impatient because you want underneath everything, to really get back to FEELING what you felt as a child – complete. You’re more impatient than others because you remember what being complete felt like. They’ve probably never experienced it so their chase is a little less obsessed.
It is really wonderful that you’re trying to be more patient. But that is more like trying to keep a car dry in the rain. You just keep wiping all the time and the driving doesn’t happen. The key is to spend a little more time meditating, become VERY aware of the hypnosis in the media (the message that you need something outside to be happy, most spiritual marketing is centered around this too!!), maybe avoiding all media for a while altogether, and starting to become aware that there is joy and bliss in THIS very moment. Then you’ll see that you’re patient again. It is your basic nature, always was.

Dear Ashwita,
Does it really occure the way you have explained?
Because I too have realised many of my shortcomings now after regular reiki meditation. It is quite distirbing at times to realize your own faults.
Should we wake up and start working on these issues immediately or should we wait in awareness?
We need to not ‘wait’, but ‘rest’ in awareness Swatee. Of course, if you REALLY want to jump and start trying to fix it, then you can even try that. It is only a matter of time before you realise that faults are like balloons in water – you press them down here, they bob up to the surface there. You’re always going to have flaws, that is the nature of being human. It is only the ego in its quest for superiority that wants to remove all your flaws. When you rest in the awareness of your own flaws, you will start seeing things as they are – and be in acceptance of others’ flaws as well, and this improves the way you relate to people, as well as how free people feel around you.
