Healing the Future with Reiki
Now, why on earth would we want to heal the future?
The future is determined by our actions in the present. It is obviously of utmost importance that we put in our best efforts in we want the future to be pleasant. In addition to this however, healing the future can have its advantages. For example, suppose a little boy has a tendency to be so afraid during exams that he tends to forget. While it is important for him to work hard and be well prepared for his exams, sending some healing for him to remain calm and composed during his exams will be quite beneficial. Of course, much of such healing can be sent during the time of the event itself, but remains an option if you know you will be busy at that time.
Heal your emotions first
The future often triggers fear and worry when we take into consideration all the unpleasant possibilities that might occur. It is important before we heal the future, that we check for any fears of the future and request Reiki to heal these first. Once we are open to the possibilities and relaxed, we can begin the healing.
For situations that trigger strong emotions
If you have to battle stage fright and give an important speech, healing the future can be of great use. Ditto if you have an important meeting with someone that triggers strong reactions. In such situations, here is what you do:
- Sit comfortably and imagine the situation clearly
- Allow yourself to feel the emotions it is bringing up
- Once the emotions are intense, start the practice of Reiki, and request it to heal the incident and all your reactions to it, completely. If you have learned level 2, you can imagine the symbols on the visual image of the incident as well.
- End with the sort of result you would like to manifest – a happy applause for instance, or the smiling face of the person you’re with. Allow yourself to feel how you would feel if the incident ended this beautifully.
Important events in the future
Sometimes, there are important events coming up, like a wedding, a baby on the way, or an important presentation. These situations could benefit from the maximum amount of energy we can channel, and if it involves someone close to us, it is possible we might be too preoccupied to send Reiki during the event.
To send healing in advance to such events,
- Imagine a TV screen playing the event in front of you
- Imagine energy flowing through your crown, into your body, and radiating towards this screen, charging it up. (Read more about flooding.)
- If you have learned level 2, you can also imagine the symbols on the TV screen.
- Imagine the best possible outcome, and allow yourself to feel the emotions that brings up.
Doesn’t focusing on the future take us away from the present?
Yes, getting overly involved with trying to dictate what the future looks like is a recipe for disaster. However, just like we spend time planning for the future, sending a little energy along for things to go smoothly is quite alright. As long as we don’t get obsessive, we’ll do just fine.

I bought a house in a city called Mangalore where i dont know anyone and dont have any relatives or friends.I bought the house for our retirement and mainly because i wanted to get away from the filth and crowd of Bangalore and its coldness.The main attraction to me was the independant compound of the house which is so difficult to have in a flat oriented city like BangaloreNow i took a step planning for our retirement which is some 10 years away.But now i feel paranoid about moving into a city which is new to me and where i do not know anyone.and where there are no much activities.How do i heal this fear of the unknown?
